وفق الشمس City presented a £280,000 Bentley Continental GT to their former director of football, who left the club last month after serving them for more than a decade. The Bentley is customised to the club’s sky blue colour and has a Spanish number plate and a left-hand drive so that the 61-year-old can enjoy the car in his homeland.
During his 13-year-long stint, City won 21 major trophies, including seven الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز titles, two FA Cups, one دوري أبطال أوروبا, one Club كأس العالم, and one UEFA كأس السوبر. Begiristain also oversaw a number of key Academy and Ballon d’Or prizes. After joining the Cityzens in 2012, he was instrumental in bringing two stalwart managers to the Etihad Stadium, Manuel Pellegrini and Pep Guardiola.
City boss Pep Guardiola has often acknowledged Begiristain’s contribution to the English club’s massive success. The duo had previously worked at برشلونة, where the 61-year-old played a key role in promoting the Spanish manager as Barcelona’s senior team head coach. They also played together at the Blaugrana.
نادي سبورتينغ لشبونة‘s Hugo Viana has replaced Begiristain as the club’s new director of football as the Cityzens usher in a new era. Guardiola’s men will be back in action in the Premier League on Sunday as they take on أرسنال in a blockbuster clash.
