Ex- captain Rooney, who is Manchester ‘s all-time leading goalscorer, famously tweeted “Hi rio do u want picking up in the morning pal” in 2011 during the pair’s time together at Old Trafford.

They have clambered back into the same car ahead of the Red Devils touring America during the summer of 2025. They have been visiting some of the stadiums that Ruben Amorim’s squad will soon be passing through.

Rooney and Ferdinand shared stories from their time working under Sir Alex Ferguson, with the former revealing the mischievous team-mates once hid his pants during a plane journey back from the U.S.

Ferdinand and Rooney are now pundits, with the latter having struggled to make his mark as a coach, with new challenges being embraced. Ferdinand has severed ties with TNT Sports, while Rooney is reportedly being lined up for an £800,000 deal with MOTD.n
