الحاكم champions are poised to make an eye-watering offer for Fernandes, who would earn £33m ($45m) per year, according to reports in The Sun. But boss Ruben Amorim will be difficult to convince that now is the time to let the international leave.

A meeting has already taken place between the Saudis and Fernandes’ representatives, but he has already turned down an offer from fellow Pro League outfit Al-Hilal – who are the most successful club in the league’s history. But will 30-year-old Fernandes be able to ignore an offer of this size?

In June, Fernandes said: “I have always been honest. I’ve always said I will be here until the club says to me that it’s time to go. I’m eager to do more, to be able to bring the club the great days. In the day that the club thinks that I’m too much or it’s time to part ways, football is like this, you never know it.”

It’s decision time for Fernandes, stick it out at Man Utd, who find themselves in another period of upheaval, or take the big bucks in Saudi Arabia? Either way, he only has a few days to make up his mind before the transfer window closes.
