- Forest and Man City agree £30 million ($40.5m) fee
- Deal includes buy-back clause
- McAtee was also wanted by آينتراخت فرانكفورت
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Forest have reached total agreement with City on a package worth up to £30 million for McAtee. The deal also includes a sell-on clause and a buy-back option for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The arrival of McAtee, 22, will provide Forest with a major boost as they prepare to compete in four competitions in 2025-26. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men, who finished seventh in the الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز last season, will play in the الدوري الأوروبي after كريستال بالاس had their ban upheld by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) for breaching UEFA’s multi-club ownership (MCO) rules. The Eagles will instead play in the دوري المؤتمرات.
As per The Athletic’s report, McAtee – who played a key role in helping إنجلترا retain their Under-21 بطولة أوروبا title this summer – had interest from a number of other clubs, including الدوري الألماني side Eintracht Frankfurt.
Forest start their new league campaign against Brentford at the City Ground on Sunday, while City travel to وولفرهامبتون واندررز في.يوم السبت.
