- Ederson agrees to join Galatasaray
- Negotiations have begun with Man City
- Brazilian had offers from الدوري السعودي للمحترفين clubs
A report emerged earlier this week that Galatasaray have approached the Cityzens with a €3 million (£2.6m/$3.5m) offer for goalkeeper Ederson as the Turkish giants are interested in luring the experienced Brazilian away from the Etihad. Now, journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu has reported that the Selecao star has agreed personal terms with Galatasaray and the Turkish champions have begun negotiations with English giants over the transfer fee.
Ederson, who joined City from Benfica in 2017, is all set to leave the club after spending eight memorable years as Pep Guardiola begins reshaping his squad ahead of the upcoming 2025-26 campaign. The club have reportedly identified Ederson’s replacement as they are eyeing a move for Burnley‘s James Trafford.
While Galatasaray are now the front-runners to sign the 31-year-old goalkeeper, he also had lucrative offers from Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal and champions Al-Ittihad.
Guardiola’s men, who competed in the Club كأس العالم in the U.S. this summer, are scheduled to play just one pre-season friendly against sister club Palermo FC on August 9 before they kick off the new season against Wolves seven days later.
