- Bayern credited with Leao interest
- German side deny he was ever an option
- Winger would like Munich move
Despite unproductive talks, Leao is still interested in a move to Bayern, according to German outlet Bild. The German club held direct talks with the winger’s representatives in June but made no official offer to Milan, deeming the asking price too high.
Bayern are aiming to bolster their attack this summer following Leroy Sane’s move to Galatasaray and Thomas Muller‘s free transfer departure. They have held talks for Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade and Liverpool‘s Luis Díaz but have failed u0026nbsp;to secure either signing.
Honorary president Uli Hoeness dismissed the Leao transfer rumours, stating earlier this month: “No, no, he was never an option for us! Max [Eberl, sporting director] told me that too. He had talks about it, but they weren’t productive.”
Leao and Milan are set to take on Arsenal in a friendly pre-season as it will be Massimiliano Allegri’s first game in charge since joining the club. Bayern meanwhile will look elsewhere to bolster their attack after failing to land their targets including Leao.
