- Randal Kolo Muani not in coach Luis Enrique’s plans
- PSG want to recoup their investment on forward
- Juventus seeks other options
The French striker found himself out of PSG’s long-term project last season. The Italian club signed him on loan in the winter transfer window, and the striker impressed enough to convince them to sign him outright. According to Gazzetta dello Sport however, PSG’s relentless pursuit to recoup their €90 million (£78m/$105m) investment in the striker is proving a hurdle. The French club are willing to negotiate with Juve’s camp, but the Italian club believe the amount is still beyond their financial capabilities. Kolo Muani is set to return to PSG’s training ground this week.
PSG signed the 26-year-old from Eintracht Frankfurt after his impressive spell with the German club, where he scored 23 goals and provided 17 assists in 46 games. However, the amount paid for the forward is so high that the French club are not willing to take a massive loss on their investment. The الدوري الفرنسي 1 club realise they have to part ways with Kolo Muani and are willing to loan him to Juve again, but with an obligation to buy clause set at around €45m (£39m/$52m). Juve general manager Damien Comolli is concerned with such a significant amount and knows the club can’t take a risk as they are already struggling financially. Juve prefer a loan move with an option to buy.
Tudor has personally asked Comolli to sign Kolo Muani. Juve have also agreed, but talks have halted as the two clubs cannot agree on a deal. The Turin-based club will have to sell Dusan Vlahovic and Douglas Luiz to generate funds to sign the 2022 World Cup finalist. الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز clubs are showing interest in Luiz, but there haven’t been any concrete talks yet.
Juventus have signed Canadian forward Jonathan David on a free transfer. The 25-year-old forward whose contract expired with French club Lille was eager to join Tudor’s side. However, Juve’s last signing from Lille, Timothy Weah, has found himself at odds with Comolli and is a striker the club even tried to force out in the summer.
The Italian side is set to face Borussia Dortmund in a pre-season friendly on August 10, before the league kicks off on August 25, where the two-time Champions League winner will face Parma in its opening fixture.
