Hojlund moves to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in a deal which also includes a conditional obligation to buy next summer for €44 million (£38m; $51m), according to The Athletic. The report claims the clause will be activated if Napoli qualify for the الموسم القادم.

Hojlund’s switch to Napoli will see him reunite with former United team-mate Scott McTominay, who has been a revelation since moving to in the summer of 2024. The midfielder scored 12 goals in 34 Serie A appearances in 2024-25 as Antonio Conte’s men pipped to the league title.

Hojlund could make his debut when Napoli take on Fiorentina in the league on September 13, following the conclusion of the international break. Meanwhile United are next in action when they face rivals in the derby on September 14.
