According to Fabrizio Romano Firmino has agreed to join Qatari giants Al Sadd. He will leave Al Ahli after helping them lift the AFC title this summer. The Brazilian forward still had a year left in his existing deal but Al Ahli president Khaled Al-Ghamdi had earlier told Saudi media that they have an agreement with the 33-year-old that will allow him to leave the club after two years.

Doubts were raised over Firmino’s long-term future at Al Ahli earlier this year when the club opted against registering him for the second half of the 2024-25 campaign. However, in the continental competition, the player had six goals and seven assists, with two of those assists coming in the final against Kawasaki Frontale.

Firmino was linked with a move back to his homeland this summer as reports emerged that could make a move for him, however, he has now decided to remain in the Middle East.

Al Ahli have been actively looking for a new attacker this summer and were linked with audacious moves for Lionel Messi and Mason Greenwood, however, the club are yet to submit any formal offers.
