U.S. international Alyssa Thompson is reportedly in talks about a potential transfer from Angel City to Chelsea FC, and will miss the club’s match against on Monday night.

According to journalist Tom Garry, Angel City will excuse the absence as the forward awaits clearance to travel to London. Thompson’s younger sister, Gisele, also plays for Angel City.

Thompson is one of the brightest young stars in the U.S. women’s team, and she could potentially join American teammates Naomi Girma and Cat Macario at Stamford Bridge. In NWSL, Thompson scored 16 goals in 62 appearances for the club and has three goals for the USWNT.

Thompson made her USWNT debut in London, playing in front of 90,000 fans in Wembley Stadium on Oct. 7, 2022.

The young forward awaits for her move to potentially be finalized. Chelsea’s next two matches are against on Sept. 5 and on Sept. 14.
