- Joins from ليستر where he won promotion to الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز
- Welsh club have been busy in the market
Coady completed the shock move to north Walesfrom Leicester on Friday as Phil Parkinson looks to bolster his defensive options. The إنجلترا centre-back is a vastly experienced player with 198 appearances in the Premier League across spells with Wolves and Leicester, as well as two Championship-winning seasons with the same clubs. The 32-year-old was relegated from the Premier League with the Foxes last season, but at Championship level he will undoubtedly provide a huge boost for the newly-promoted Red Dragons.
Posting on Instagram, Amie Coady said: “Well this was unexpected, but one we are so excited about! As the saying goes ‘when one door closes another door opens’ and we are so ready for this one!! Proud is an understatement. Always and forever got your back.”
Coady represents the latest signing to walk through the door at Wrexham with Parkinson already adding Liberato Cacace from إمبولي for £2.2m, George Thomason from بولتون for £1.2m and Ryan Hardie from بليموث for £620k, as well as free agents Danny Ward, Josh Windass, Lewis O’Brien and Sam Dalby. The Red Dragons are also being linked with moves for توتنهام Hotspur’s Ben Davies and إيبسويتش‘s £7.5m-rated forward Nathan Broadhead.
Wrexham’s Championship season is just around the corner. The Red Dragons kick off their campaign in England’s second division with a tricky fixture against recently-relegated ساوثهامبتون – now managed by Will Still.
