Football General Manager
- Striker seeing move speculated on
- Will not make trip to the Far East
- Recovering from minor thigh injury
The Magpies are preparing to face north London giants Arsenal and Tottenham while in the Far East, as well as a K-League XI. Eddie Howe has pieced together his travelling party, with the countdown on to the 2025-26 campaign.
He is hoping that prolific frontman Isak will be part of his plans for a season that includes Champions League action, but questions continue to be asked of how much longer the talented 25-year-old will be spending on Tyneside.
Premier League champions Liverpool – who may have moved on after landing Hugo Ekitike – and Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal have been credited with interest in Isak. He will not form part of Newcastle’s upcoming fixtures.
The Magpies said in an update on their official website with their Sweden international No.14 having been training by himself of late: “Eddie Howe has an almost fully-fit squad to choose from, however Alexander Isak misses out with a minor thigh injury.”
Newcastle, who have included summer signing Antony Elanga in their tour squad, are set to face Arsenal in Singapore on Sunday. Isak will be working on his fitness ahead of a Premier League opener away at Aston Villa on August 16.n
