Morata was not happy with the decision to give the young defender his marching orders as he felt the replay should have been given a closer look by the officials.

Morata said after the game: “We lost two important points. I understand it’s difficult to make decisions, but I can’t understand why Ramon’s sending off wasn’t reviewed by VAR. You can tell right away it wasn’t a straight leg. I don’t understand why, with today’s technology, they don’t review the play by VAR. The intensity may seem harsh, but if you review it slowly, it doesn’t warrant a red card. He barely gets it. We’re all human and we make mistakes.”
