Reported by BBC Sport the 18-year-old winger is set to be offered a new five-year deal on improved terms in the hope that he commits his long-term future to the club he has been at since the age of eight. Nwaneri’s previous deal was set to expire in the summer of 2026, but there is ‘growing hope’ that an agreement will be reached.

Hale End graduate Nwaneri is no doubt a huge part of ‘s long-term project, breaking through alongside fellow teenager Myles Lewis-Skelly last season. London rivals Chelsea have made a habit of picking up talented young players in recent years and showed a recent interest in Nwaneri when reports of uncertainty over his Gunners future emerged, but his signing of a new deal would put an end to this speculation.

Nwaneri has been touted as a star in the making for several years, having made his Premier League debut in 2022 aged just 15. The 2007-born wonderkid scored nine goals for Arsenal last season in a very impressive first full campaign with the senior side.

Arsenal will hope to tie up Nwaneri’s new deal as soon as possible, while the player will be glad to resolve his future so that he can prepare for what could be another big season in his development. Rumoured attacking signings such as Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze may give Nwaneri an even bigger fight on his hands for minutes next season, but the teenager will be confident in his ability and the club will want to continue the rapid progression of one of their prized assets.
