- Dowman shining in pre-season
- Tipped to become next Arsenal star
- Sent ‘humble’ warning by failed prospect
Dowman has been the talk of the Gunners’ pre-season camp this summer, having stood out against the likes of AC Milan and Newcastle during Arsenal’s Asian tour. But the 15-year-old has been warned by a failed prospect to remain humble if he is to avoid falling into the enticing trap of stardom at such a young age.
Charlie Patino, who rose through the ranks of Arsenal’s academy before moving to Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna, has issued some wise words of warning to Dowman. Speaking to The Sun he said: “I’d say to him to keep your head down, be grounded, be humble.
“Listen to the people around you. Listen to the players who’ve got a lot more experience. He’s a lot younger than me. I’ve seen a few clips and he looks like a very quality player. At an age like that, we don’t want to put too much pressure on him. It’s all about timing. Time will tell where he gets to. I wish him all the best in what he does.”
Dowman is yet to make his senior competitive debut for Arsenal, but is line to be part of Mikel Arteta’s squad for the upcoming 2025-26 season. He has stunned Arsenal fans with his antics in pre-season, showing striking similarities to Bukayo Saka, and is now being backed to rise to the very top and challenge Lamine Yamal as one of Europe’s top prospects.u0026nbsp;
Arsenal have two more games before their opening Premier League clash at Manchester United. They face Villarreal and Athletic Club, meaning Dowman has two more chances to impress his coach and give himself the best chance to feature on the biggest stage this season.
