- Raphinha goes to Disneyland with son
- Barca ace accuses Disney of racism
- Issues furious statement online
The Brazilian posted a number of videos on social media, which appeared to show his two-year-old son, Gael, being “ignored” by a Disneyland character during a Disneyland Paris visit. As a result, the ex-Leeds United man said the park’s employees are “disgraceful” and questioned why the toddler didn’t get a hug when all of the “white children” did.
He wrote in an Instagram story: “Your employees are disgraceful. You shouldn’t treat people like this, especially a CHILD. You’re supposed to make children happy, not ignore a child. I prefer to say ‘ignore’, rather than anything else. You’re a disgrace. I understand the fatigue of those who work with this, but why did all the white children get hugs and not my son? I hate you, Disneyland. He just wanted a hello and a hug. Lucky for you, he doesn’t get it. That employee is s****y.”
This is not the kind of press Disney needs, especially when someone of Raphinha’s fame makes racism allegations against them. His young son, Gael, did look very put out by the incident, which has now gone viral.
Disneyland Paris is yet to issue an official response to the allegations. Raphinha is currently thousands of miles away in Brazil on international duty, with the winger set to take on Bolivia in their World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday night.
