- Will play one last friendly on Wednesday
The Saudi Pro League side have been preparing for the new 2025-26 campaign in Austria but are now set to head to Portugal due to the weather. According to Kronen Zeitung the team will cut short their stay at Saalfelden and will also cancel a scheduled friendly match on Sunday gainst Al-Ahli. Al-Nassr had been due to stay until next Monday but plan to leave on Thursday instead.

Ronaldo has only just linked up with his team-mates after enjoying a delayed return to pre-season due to his Nations League exploits. The team are now expected to jet to Portugal in search of more favourable conditions. Daniel Fischer, a partner in the company Onside who are organising the training camp, has blamed the weather for the trip being cut short. He said: “We had a call with Al-Nassr’s management. The risk of injury is too high due to the wet pitches. They will now travel on to Portugal and train there.”

Ronaldo and Al-Nassr will also be heading to Spain before the start of the new campaign. The Saudi Pro League side are due to face Almeria in a friendly on August 10. The game will see Ronaldo play a club match on Spanish soil for the first time in almost three years. Yet he has plenty of experience of Almeria, having scored four goals in four appearances at the UD Almería Stadium during his days with Real Madrid.
Al-Nassr’s next game against Toulouse in Austria will go ahead as planned on Wednesday before the team wave goodbye to Austria. Ronaldo is expected to feature in the match and make his first appearance of pre-season for Al-Nassr under new coach Jorge Jesus.
