- Smith highly rated at Chelsea
- Teen joins Crystal Palace on loan
- Set to play for WSL 2 team
The Women’s Super League 2 side have confirmed the capture of the versatile Chelsea midfielder for the 2025/26 campaign. The 17-year-old made her senior debut for the Blues last season and now she will get the chance for more game time at the Eagles.
The 17-year-old told Palace’s website: “It feels amazing to be here. I can’t wait to get started, to get to know the girls and start working hard.”
Palace boss Jo Potter added: “We are delighted to welcome Lola to Crystal Palace. She is an exciting young player who brings a fantastic energy to our squad, and we are looking forward to helping her continue her development this season.”
Chelsea have high hopes for Brown’s future after an impressive start to her burgeoning career. The youngster was named Chelsea’s Women’s Academy Player of the Season in 2025, has represented England at Under-19 level, and has already played twice for the Blues’ first-team. Brown signed her first professional contract with the club last November, penning a three-year deal, and many expect her to be a Chelsea star in the future. This move should be a good test of her credentials.
Brown, who was also voted Chelsea Women’s Academy Player of the Year for 2023-24, could make her Palace debut when the Croydon outfit take on London neighbours Charlton Athletic in the Women’s Championship on September 7 at The Valley.
