Serge Gnabry broke the deadlock for the Bavarian side in the third minute before Aleksandar Pavlovic doubled their lead. Kane then converted a penalty in the 26th minute and Luis Diaz took the team’s tally to four goals even before the half-hour mark. Kane then scored the team’s fifth goal in the 62nd minute to seal a memorable win for the champions.
The Bayern star, along with Gnabry, received the top score from German newspaper BILD for the exceptional show against Hamburg. Former Liverpool forward Luis Diaz got the second-highest score, level with Pavlovic, Michael Olise and Konrad Laimer.
With the brace against Hamburg, Kane took a step forward towards reaching the 100-goal mark for Bayern across all competitions. The English forward has scored 93 goals for the German side in 101 appearances since joining them from Tottenham in 2023.
Vincent Kompany’s side will be back in action on Wednesday as they take on Premier League giants Chelsea in their Champions League opener at the Allianz Arena.
