- Al-Nassr beaten in Sunday friendly
- Only staff from teams in attendance
- Sadio Mane also featured
Al-Nassr suffered a tough pre-season defeat on Sunday as they were beaten 1-0 by Estrela da Amadora, who finished 15th in the Liga Portugal table last season, in a behind-closed-doors friendly, according to A Bola. New signing Felix, who has just arrived from Chelsea, played the full game to top up the 59 minutes he got against Toulouse on his debut, while Ronaldo and Mane featured in the first half. However, none of them got on the scoresheet as Alan Godoy bagged the only goal of the game.
The defeat comes after two pre-season victories for Al-Nassr. The Saudi Arabian giants thrashed SK St. Johann 5-2 before a 2-1 victory over Toulouse was earned thanks to goals from Ronaldo and Mohammed Maran.
Despite being linked with all manner of players over the summer, Al-Nassr have struggled to attract marquee talent during the transfer window aside from Felix. Bruno Fernandes is thought to be admired by Jorge Jesus’ side but has already turned down Al-Hilal and is unlikely to reverse that decision so close to the new season. They are also supposedly lining up a move for Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae.
Al-Nassr have another summer friendly on the horizon against Almeria before they get their 2025-26 campaign underway with a semi-final clash with Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Super Cup. They’ll hope to bring in a few more new faces before the league starts later this month.
