- Sporting director confirms club will sell players for the right price
Toulouse currently have multiple players under the spotlight in the transfer market, including Jaydee Canvot, Yann Gboho, Guillaume Restes, Cresswell, and Cristian Casseres Jr. The club’s recruitment director, Viktor Bezhani, is delighted by the noise his players are making and claims it goes to show that the club is heading in the right direction. However, he also stressed that although his players, including Cresswell, are on the market and available, the interested clubs will have to match their asking price if they are to sign them.
Cresswell moved to France last year from Leeds United for €4m, signing a contract until the summer of 2028. The English center-back had an breakthrough spell under coach Carles Novell and was an instrumental cog in the wheel, playing 31 games in which he scored three goals while providing one assist. With many Premier League clubs chasing his signature, Bezhani will have to see if any deal matches the club’s demands.
Speaking to L’Equipe, the sporting director, when asked about the noise his players are making in the transfer market, said: “We are delighted by the amount of interest in our players. It shows that we are doing good things and that the rest of Europe is watching us. It isn’t a secret, if a good offer arrives, we’ll have a look at it.”
The French league kicks off in less than a week, and Toulouse are set to face Nice in their opening fixture on August 17 at Allianz Riviera.
