He added: “It was an intense 48 hours with lots of ups and downs, but we were really focused on making it happen and found a good solution. We’re really pleased Nicolas is here.”
The 24-year-old is expected to make his Bundesliga debut against Hamburg this weekend. Bayern hope his integration will be smooth with Champions League fixtures just around the corner. The club will use the loan as a test run to see if the Senegalese striker fits their long-term project.
