Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Jarrod Bowen's wife Dani Dyer named as celebrity contestants for 2025 series of BBC show Strictly Come Dancing

Chelsea hero Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Jarrow Bowen's wife Dani Dyer are among the celebrities taking part in this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

Former international Hasselbaink and TV personality Dyer were unveiled on BBC One’s The One Show on Monday as part of the 2025 Strictly lineup. They join ex-Olympic sprinter Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and actress Alex Kingston in the initial crop so far, with more to come.

Love Island winner Dyer, who got married to star Bowen earlier this year, said: “Getting the opportunity to be on Strictly is the second most amazing thing I’ve done this year! I feel very very blessed and cannot wait to get my dancing shoes on.”

And Hasselbainku0026nbsp;added: “Swapping the pitch for the ballroom is certainly not something I’ve done before but I’m looking forward to tackling a fun challenge! Bring on a new type of footwork, with hopefully no own goals.”

Incidentally, some of the rumoured celebrities are ex-Olympian Sir Mo Farah, entrepreneur Thomas Skinner, TV presenter Angellica Bell and TV star Stacey Solomon.

The quartet could take part in the 23rd series of the hit BBC show, which will run from September to December. Two new professional dancers are also joining the lineup this year: Alexis Warr, who won ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ in 2022 in America, and Julian Caillon, who appeared in ‘s Dancing With The Stars for three seasons.

More celebrities will be announced in due course, with the likes of Made in ‘s Georgia Toffolo, Traitors series three winner Jake Brown, actor Stefan Dennis and former footballer Ashley Cain also rumoured contestants.
