Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce took a step forward towards making the Champions League league stage as they knocked Robin van Persie's Feyenoord out in the third-round qualifiers. The Turkish giants went down 2-1 in the first leg in the Netherlands, but they bounced back strongly and beat the Dutch side 5-2 to clinch the tie 6-4 on aggregate.

Fenerbahce overturned a one-goal deficit from the first to progress to the play-off round of the Champions League 2025-26 campaign. Archie Brown, Jhon Duran, , Youssef En-Nesyri and Anderson Talisca were on target as Mourinho’s side outclassed Van Persie’s Fenerbahce and knocked the Dutch club of the competition.

This was Mourinho’s fourth victory against Feyenoord in Europe as he has now emerged victorious against the Dutch giants in all three UEFA competitions – the , the and the Champions League. This was also the veteran manager’s 11th win against a Dutch opponent, the most for any head coach in history.

Mourinho’s side will play their first Turkish match on Saturday as they face away from home. Their next will be the first leg of the Champions League play-offs on August 20 against one of Bodo/Glimt and Sturm Graz.
