- Young Kai scores first goal for U18s
- Wayne’s son was fast tracked earlier this month
- The forward’s rapid rise continues
Young Kai, the son of United legend Wayne, found the back of the net in the Red Devils’ 5-0 victory over Middlesborough in the U18s Premier League. The 15-year-old showed great skill to turn away from his marker before his effort took a heavy deflection en route to goal.
Kai’s effort was the latest development in what has been a remarkable rise through the ranks of late. Comfortable operating out wide or as a striker, Kai was named among the substitutes for United’s trip to Everton in their U18s Premier League opener on August 16.
And it was reported earlier in August that Kai, who has been on United’s books since the age of 11, was also called up to the Under-19s squad for a tournament in Croatia following a series of good performances in the U16 Super Cup NI event.
Kai will be hoping to add to his goal tally for the season when United take on Brighton and Hove Albion’s U18s in the Premier League Cup on Wednesday. Meanwhile, United’s senior team take on Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday.
