Former German midfielder Hamann argued that have spent more than they ideally should have to sign Diaz, claiming that Liverpool would be laughing over the €75 million (£65m/$87m) fee they received for the Colombian. Hamann also criticised head coach Kompany for “not letting the youngsters play.”
