- Sesko to undergo medical before deal becomes official
The Athletic has reported that Manchester United and Leipzig have agreed on a €76.5m fixed fee plus €8.5m in add-ons for the transfer of Sesko. Newcastle had also submitted an accepted bid but couldn’t convince the player of a summer move to St. James’ Park. The 21-year-old is now set to travel for a medical ahead of signing a contact with the Premier League side.
Manchester United‘s summer rebuild continues with Sesko joining a revamped attack. His arrival follows the signings of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, as Ruben Amorim aims to improve the Red Devils following their horror 2024/25 season.
Despite Newcastle United having agreed on terms with RB Leipzig for Sesko before Manchester United, the Magpies were unable to convince the Slovenian to join Eddie Howe’s squad. Additionally, the Red Devils have agreed a lower transfer fee that the amount offered by Newcastle.
The Slovenian striker will undergo his medical in the coming days, and Manchester United are expected to officially announce the deal shortly after. The Red Devils are also expected to offload unwanted players such as Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Antony to help balance the books.
