The Mexican team has confirmed a friendly match against Ecuador to be held in Guadalajara on Oct. 14, during the October FIFA international window.

FMF CEO Ivar Sisniega denied reports suggesting that and Argentina would face off in a friendly match in Chicago this October.

“The Argentina story isn’t true,” he said. “It was something someone mentioned, and it took on a life of its own, but there’s no truth to it. They’re not one of the opponents we’re considering for November.”

Over the years, Mexico has maintained a favorable record against Ecuador. Now coached by Javier Aguirre, the team has faced La Tri 24 times, recording 14 wins, six draws and four losses.

Mexico will face on Sept. 6 and on Sept. 9, with both taking place in the States.
