- 35-year-old ended Bayern career after two decades
The German legend now prepares to partner with his new club in the United States as MLS readies for another marquee arrival, according a report from Sky Sport. The 35-year-old, a long-standing Munich icon, will finalise his contract and complete the transfer within the next seven to 10 days. LAFC – Bayern’s partner club – have been reported as the leading contender to sign him.
Muller’s transfer comes after he brought an end to his distinguished spell at Bayern, where he has spent his entire senior career. A seasoned attacker and World Cup winner, Muller brings vast experience and leadership to MLS. His arrival follows the ongoing trend of high-profile European talents transitioning to the league, signalling MLS’s growing appeal and competitiveness. He was even in touch with European teams this summer.
Muller is Bayern’s all-time leading assist provider and ranks among the Bundesliga‘s top appearance-makers. He has amassed 250 goals and 276 assists with the German giants, winning 12 Bundesliga titles and two Champions League trophies in 756 appearances overall.
An official announcement regarding Muller’s new club is expected within the coming week. Pre-season integration, adaptation to MLS, and potential reunions with former Bundesliga colleagues await the German forward.
