- adidas drops retro black-and-yellow kit
- Berbatov channels martial arts master
- Fans pleased with latest offering
United kit providers adidas have ripped up the playbook with the new 2025-26 third strip, serving a bold reimagining of the club’s ‘90s glory-day threads. Built on a deep, engineered black base, the shirt is sliced through with sharp yellow detailing, a look instantly evoking the era of Eric Cantona’s collar-popping dominance. The flat-knit collar and cuffs, trimmed with yellow and blue accents, deliver that perfect mix of old-school authenticity and modern punch.
Former United striker Berbatov, famed for his calm, almost meditative style on the pitch, fits the “Sensai” persona like a tailored suit. In the launch video, he trains Bruno Fernandes, Lenny Yoro, and Amad Diallo in the art of precision, poise, and power; themes that cleverly mirror both footballing mastery and martial discipline. Ruben Amorim also steps into frame with a mix of quiet confidence, and the whole production plays like a football-flavoured kung-fu short film, equal parts style and substance.
If adidas wanted a strong instant reaction, they’ve got it in spades.
One fan,@KrishnaAnand_, summed up the mood of the United faithful perfectly, posting: “This is the best jersey in decades, and needs King Cantona wearing it. This, and the Black / Orange from 10 years ago, are United’s best kits.”
@nmuntaka said: “This is the best I have seen with Berbatov as the Sensei…🥰🥰🥰.”
@iamvkhilhailed the former striker simply writing: “Kungfu Berba.”
@mimikutd wrote: “This feels like a movie. Don Dimitar Berbatov.”
Meanwhile, @FergiesRightRef is already dreaming of Man Utd transfer target Carlos Baleba in the new stripes. He wrote: “Baleba would look good in this”
While the kit is the talk of the town, attention now swings back to the pitch. United’s Premier League campaign kicks off with a blockbuster home clash against fierce rivals Arsenal this Sunday. A trip to Fulham follows a week later, before newly-promoted Burnley arrive at Old Trafford on August 30.
