- Josh Sargent scored two for Norwich
- Rolled home penalty then smashed second in stoppage time
- Canaiers sit in 11th after four games
Josh Sargent continued his hot start to the season, bagging a brace to lead Norwich to a 2-0 win over Blackburn on Saturday. The USMNT striker scored late on in each half, sealing a comfortable victory for his side and taking him to the top of the EFL Championship‘s Golden Boot race.
Sargent took his first coolly from the spot.
The second was an emphatic finish late on.
Sargent’s strong start to the season comes amid talk that the USMNT forward could potenially leave the club before the end of the January transfer window. He reportedly turned down a move to Germany earlier in the summer, while there has been scattered interest from clubs in England.
The striker’s focus now turns to USMNT camp, where he will be among the group set to represent the U.S. in friendlies against Japan and Korea. Norwich’s next game is an EFL Championship clash with Coventry on Sept. 13.
