The West Ham captain has tied the knot with former Love Island contestant Dyer. She openly admits to being a “needy” partner and can find it difficult when her husband is away for long periods on club and international duty.
England star Bowen is, however, a sports nut and brings that fanaticism home with him. He makes a point of keeping up to date with Premier League action, as he casts an eye over domestic rivals, but has revealed that he also enjoys watching American football late into the evening – much to the disgust of his new wife.
Bowen has told West Ham’s official website while enjoying a pre-season tour of the United States that has seen him enjoy some NFL-style hospitality: “My Dad would always be watching when I was small so I’d always just watch it with him and now I watch it every Sunday. I have my iPad on where I watch DAZN, so I watch the Patriots, then I have Red Zone on the main telly!
“Dani hates it because I put on Super Sunday, then it’s the first slot of NFL games at 6pm, then the second set at 9pm. I let her have the telly until about two o’clock, then it’s football and the NFL!
“I love it. I love watching it. Being out here being in the facilities here is like crazy for me because you don’t get to see that side of the NFL back in the UK. So, to see the different facilities, it’s incredible.”
Bowen added on his NFL icons: “Rob Gronkowski the tight end was my favourite, and there was another player for my Dad’s Giants who was really good called Tiki Barber. He was a running back and every time we played [Madden on the PlayStation], my Dad would use him all the time and Tiki Barber is the name that will always stick with me.”
West Ham are set to face Bournemouth at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium home of the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday before returning to the UK, allowing Bowen to reunite with Dyer before the 2025-26 Premier League campaign gets underway.
