- Oasis sold out five nights at Heaton Park
- City stars among those to attend
- Gallagher brothers are big Blues supporters
The Gallagher brothers have performed to more than 340,000 fans across five nights at Heaton Park in their home city. The residency started with some revellers jeering after frontman Liam acknowledged the presence of history-making City boss Pep Guardiola.
As big City supporters, the Gallaghers have continued to welcome famous faces through the gates of their shows. Ballon d’Or winner Rodri, England international Phil Foden and former Blues captain Vincent Kompany were among the attendees at Oasis’ latest performance.
During their final night in Manchester, Gallagher stopped at one point to say: “Pay respects to Mr. Ballon d’Or.” He responded to the ripple of boos by saying: “Don’t be f*cking booing, I’ll get to yous [sic] in a minute.”
Gallagher went on to say “and the wonderkid, our Phil, respect”, in a nod to Foden, before informing the crowd it was “Poznan time” as they were invited to perform the bouncing dance that City have adopted as part of their in-stadium celebrations.
Rodri, who has returned to action after ACL surgery, and Foden formed part of City’s squad at the Club World Cup. Guardiola has been busy adding to his squad this summer ahead of a 2025-26 Premier League campaign that is due to get underway against Wolves on August 16.
