- Terms of Rashford’s loan move to Barca revealed
- Rashford will take significant pay cut
- Set to complete move by Tuesday
The Athletic reported on Saturday that Barcelona are negotiating a loan move for Rashford with Manchester United, as they look to bolster their squad with an attacker who can operate from the left side. Manager Hansi Flick reportedly met the 27-year-old before giving his green light to the club to sign the forward.
Mundo Deportivo has now revealed the details of Rashford’s loan deal, which includes a significant pay cut for the England international. The Catalan giants do not have a compulsion to buy the player at the end of his loan spell next summer and even if they want to make the transfer permanent, they will have to pay €30 million (£26m/$34.8m). Rashford will also take a 25% pay cut in order to complete his dream move as Barcelona will not be able to register him on his current wages.
Rashford fell out of favour at United shortly after Ruben Amorim took charge of the club. He was shipped off to Aston Villa on a short-term loan deal in January, where he made 17 appearances for Unai Emery’s side as he got his career back on track.
Rashford is expected to undergo his medical on either Sunday or Monday before being formally presented as a Barcelona player on Tuesday, July 22.
