- Donnarumma to leave PSG
- Has confirmed so in statement
- Chelsea‘s stance revealed
Per the Daily Mail Chelsea have no intention of trying to sign the contract rebel despite the unusual market opportunity. PSG have signed Lucas Chevalier as their new No.1, and the Italy international hasissued a statement confirming that he plans to leave, hinting that Luis Enrique is behind the decision.
Chelsea have been linked with a swoop but they already have Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen in their squad, and have signed young Belgian goalkeeper Mike Penders before loaning him to Strasbourg. The Blues are said to have high hopes for the 20-year-old, and as such, a move for Donnarumma would present an obstacle to his development.
Donnarumma is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League but it remains to be seen if a club are willing to bring him to England. Manchester United have also been linked but the stopper’s agent has claimed that Manchester City have not made contact over a deal despite being credited with an interest.
PSG play Tottenham in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday, while Chelsea kick off their season this weekend against Crystal Palace. Meanwhile, Donnrumma’s search for a new club will continue.
