Despite having several suitors across Europe, Ramsey looks set to land at St James’ Park this summer and is expected to sign a long-term contract in a deal worth £38million. The Aston Villa midfielder will become Newcastle’s fourth major signing of the summer.
Eddie Howe is believed to be a huge fan of the 24-year-old, and has pushed for the England Under-21 international. Newcastle reportedly failed in a previous bid to bring Ramsey to Tyneside, but is finally getting his man, appeasing his concerns about squad size in the process.
Villa also reportedly had an approach for Ramsey from West Ham, but the East Londoners was not an option for the Villa man, who wanted to play in the Champions League.
