Sancho and teammates , Tyrell Malacia, and Lisandro Martinez were full of smiles in the photo, posted on Instagram, despite the fact that their respective futures at Old Trafford appear to hang in the balance. The 25-year-old’s caption read ‘My brothers!’ suggesting a tight bond has been developed amongst United’s so-called ‘bomb squad’.

Sancho’s potential move to has stalled in recent days, with the side reported to have given up their pursuitand instead turned their attention to youngster Tyrique George. With other interested parties like also looking increasingly unlikely destinations, his future seems unclear.

The stockpiling of players by top clubs has accelerated in recent years, and isn’t the only side with a ‘bomb squad’ of talented but unwanted players.
