Football General Manager
- Rashford set for Man Utd exit
- Dreaming of Barcelona move
- Fenerbahce wait in the wings
According to Turkish outlet Hurriyet, via Sport Witness Fenerbahce manager and ex-United boss Jose Mourinho is keen on being reunited with Rashford. Although the 27-year-old is eyeing a Barcelona switch, that may not happen, and as a result, the Super Lig team are waiting in the wings for the England international.
The report adds that the big stumbling block, however, is Rashford’s £40 million price tag ($53.6m). Despite that, Fenerbahce will ‘patiently wait until August’ to try to get a better deal for the forward, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa. While his future remains uncertain, it seems he will not play for United again.
Rashford, whose deal at Old Trafford runs until 2028, played under Mourinho at United between 2016-2018. In that time, he scored 28 goals and added 20 assists in 125 appearances during the Portuguese’s tenure.
Rashford, who missed the tail end of last season with a hamstring injury, is back fit and is now seeking a new club. Although he has been back at United’s training ground this month, it seems his future lies away from Old Trafford.
