- Liverpool plan record bid for Newcastle star Isak
- Luis Diaz joins Bayern Munich in £65m transfer deal
- Isak rejects Al-Hilal, focused only on Liverpool switch
Diaz is set to complete a £65 million ($87.3m) switch to Bayern Munich over the next couple of days, clearing the way for Liverpool to pursue Isak. The Newcastle forward has emerged as the Merseyside club’s primary attacking target. Isak has reportedly ruled out a move to Al-Hilal and is open to joining Liverpool.
Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has reported that Liverpool are preparing a ‘record proposal’ for Isak. However, Ben Jacobs has claimed that the Reds are not going to bid ‘blindly’ and will only proceed with the move if they are ‘given encouragement from Newcastle’. Isak is reportedly pushing for the move and has already requested to leave St. James’ Park this summer.
Liverpool have already spent nearly £300 million ($403m) this summer on signings, including Hugo Ekitike, but remain keen on strengthening their frontline further. With Diaz now gone and Darwin Nunez expected to follow, Isak is seen as a crucial piece in Arne Slot’s attacking rebuild. Newcastle, meanwhile, are bracing for a ‘monster’ offer and must decide whether to cash in.
The Reds will monitor Newcastle’s stance closely before tabling a formal bid. If the Magpies open the door, a swift and serious offer will follow. Isak could become the marquee signing of Liverpool’s Slot era alongside Florian Wirtz.
