- Diaz leaves Liverpool
- Colombian winger joins Bayern
- Will link up with Kane at Allianz Arena
Diaz has finally completed his move to Bayern Munich on a four-year deal as Liverpool received a £65.5 million (€75m/$88m) transfer fee for the winger. Diaz was also linked with Barcelona after deciding to push for a summer exit, but Bayern have now won the race for his signature.

Liverpool released a statement confirming Diaz’s exit, which read: “Luis Diaz has completed a permanent transfer to Bayern Munich after three-and-a-half years with Liverpool. The Colombian departs the Reds having played a significant role in the lifting of four major trophies since arriving from FC Porto in early 2022, highlighted by Premier League title glory last term.”
After putting pen to paper on his Bayern Munich contract, Colombia international Diaz said: “It means a lot to me to be part of FC Bayern – it’s one of the biggest clubs in the world. I want to help my new team with my style of playing football and my personality.”
Diaz’s departure is part of a wider attacking shake-up at Liverpool under Arne Slot this summer. The Merseyside club have already brought in Hugo Ekitike, along with Florian Wirtz, and are also chasing Newcastle United‘s Alexander Isak as a possible final addition to their frontline.
Diaz might not get the green light to feature for the club in their first pre-season friendly against Lyon on August 2, but he could make his unofficial debut against a familiar opponent on August 7 as Bayern host star striker Harry Kane’s former club Tottenham at Allianz Arena.
