Tel swapped Bayern for Tottenham on loan earlier this year before signing a six-year deal with the winners this summer. The 20-year-old previously revealed Kane gave him some words of advice before heading to Spurs, and now he has sung the praises of the 31-year-old again.

The former Rennes man told Sky Sports : “Yes, I spoke to him [Kane] beforehand. He also told me, if you need anything, send me a text, give me a call. He’s a top guy!”

Tel made 20 appearances for Tottenham in the second half of last season and scored three goals in the process. If he wants to be part of Thomas Frank’s starting XI for next term, the Under-21 international may need to take a leaf out of Kane’s book when it comes to goalscoring.

Tel will hope to impress new boss Frank during Spurs’ pre-season campaign, which involves fixtures against Wanderers, Luton Town, , Newcastle , and Bayern, before taking on in the UEFA final.
