- Roma make £20m bid for Manchester United‘s Sancho
- Talks still in the early stages as Man Utd evaluate offer
- Sancho yet give his go ahead for the Roma move
The Athletic has reported that Serie A side Roma have submitted an official bid worth £20m for Sancho this summer, as the England international continues to look for a move away from Manchester United. The 25-year-old joined Chelsea last summer on a season-long loan deal with an obligation to make the move permanent this summer. However, the Blues eventually decided to pay a penalty fee to back out of their commitment.
Sancho has been a part of Manchester United’s ‘bomb squad’, which consisted of five players who were told they were not part of Ruben Amorim’s plans, alongside Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia and Antony. While Rashford has since been sent out on loan, Sancho and the rest are still staying put at Old Trafford but are actively looking for a move away.
Manchester United are only considering a permanent transfer for Sancho this summer, and are said not to be evaluating any interest in the England international for a loan move. However, as the transfer deadline quickly approaches, the Red Devils may be forced into accepting a loan move for the once highly-rated English winger.
It has been said that the conversations between Manchester United and Roma are not very advanced at the moment, and there has been no real indication from Sancho that he would be open to a move to the Serie A side this summer.
