Morgan Gibbs-White has held showdown talks with Nottingham Forest as he bids to force through his move to Tottenham Hotspur.

On Friday, Spurs triggered Gibbs-White’s £60 million ($81m) release clause, with the ace keen to make the move to north London. Since, however, Forest have attempted to block the move by threatening legal action against the winners.

Per the Daily Mail, the playmaker has now held showdown talks with club bosses as he attempts to make the move happen. It is currently unclear if Forest can actually stop the move happening, or merely delay it. The report states that the are currently weighing their options in terms of an investigation.

Spurs have already signed Mohammed Kudus from and Kota Takai from Kawasaki Frontale. They have also signed Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel permanently after initial loan spells.

Gibbs-White has returned to Forest training as he prepares for the new season. Whether he will be wearing red or white remains to be seen.
