Football General Manager
- Antony makes firm decision on his future
- Won’t return to his homeland
- Rejected offers from two Brazilian clubs
Antony has been listed in United‘s ‘bomb squad’, which has been training separately away from the first-team group during the pre-season. Antony is accompanied by Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia as all four players have been tipped to leave the club this summer.
Manager Ruben Amorim recently mentioned that he might consider reintegrating the out-of-favour stars into the senior squad, but a final decision on their futures will be made by the recruitment team. The Red Devils need to offload players before they can make further additions in the transfer market. The club are still in the hunt for a quality No.9.
Antony has been approached by two Brazilian clubs, Botafogo and Sao Paulo – the latter of which gave him his start in the game. However, Antenados has reported that the Selecao star has made a firm decision not to return to his homeland this summer.
The Red Devils will play their second pre-season friendly of their U.S. tour on Thursday as they take on Bournemouth at Soldier Field in Chicago.
