Football General Manager
- Garnacho has no Man Utd future
- Chelsea interested in winger
- Have no concerns over his character
The Telegraph claims that after carrying out a ‘series of background checks’ on Garnacho’s personality and character, Chelsea are still keen on signing the winger. The report adds the Blues have not been put off by his Old Trafford fall-out, which includes being banished from the first-team squad following an apparent feud with head coach Ruben Amorim and some unsavoury incidents on the Red Devils’ Asian tour.
Chelsea are reportedly expected to make an offer for the 21-year-old before the summer transfer window shuts but that may be contingent on whether or not United can sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko. Garnacho is said to be keen on staying in the Premier League and wants to compete in the Champions League. Either way, it seems his United days are set to end.
If Chelsea are to sign Garnacho, among other targets including Leipzig’s Xavi Simons, they may need to sell some players. Christopher Nkunku and Armando Broja are part of a crop of Blues men who are expected to leave permanently, while Marc Guiu and Tyrique George could head out on loan.
Garnacho, who has reportedly snubbed interest from Aston Villa, does not have a great deal of time to secure a United exit this summer. The Red Devils academy product has around a month to seal a move, else he will likely be on the fringes, at best, under Amorim.
