Football General Manager
- Konate linked with Liverpool exit
- Bayern Munich move ruled out
- Trio set to stay at German giants
According to CFBayern Insider, with Bayern centre-back Kim Min-jae yet to be sold, he is expected to be with Vincent Kompany’s side for the new season. As a result, a move for Liverpool’s Konate can be ‘ruled out’. If the South Korean international is sold, that could change, however.
Konate is in the last year of his Liverpool contract, has previously rejected a new deal from the Reds, and has beenu0026nbsp;linked with Madrid. The Merseyside outfit do not want to see a repeat of the situation where Trent Alexander-Arnold ran down his contract and joined Los Blancos this summer, but they are running out of time to extend Konate’s Anfield stay.
The report adds that, along with defender Min-jae, wingers Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry are expected to stay put for the time being at Bayern. Their importance looked to have increased following Leroy Sane’s move to Galatasaray but they may struggle for minutes following Luis Diaz’s arrival.
France international Konate, 26, is expected to start in Liverpool’s defence alongside captain Virgil van Dijk but his days at Arne Slot’s team may be numbered – unless they can strike a new deal for the 6ft 4in player soon.
