According to RMC Sport Lucas Hernandez was at the centre of exit rumours suggesting he would leave the Ligue 1 giants if his status as a substitute didn’t change. The 29-year-old French defender, recovering from an ACL rupture last season, struggled to break into ‘s preferred starting XI.

With only 16 Ligue 1 appearances in the last campaign and strong competition from , William Pacho and Nuno Mendes, Hernandez has found regular minutes hard to come by. However, the 2018 winner is under contract until 2028 and is determined to stay and fight for his place.

On Instagram, Hernandez directly addressed the rumours, saying: “A quick message to follow up on the various press articles and rumors that claim I would have asked to leave PSG if my status did not change. I would like to say that I absolutely did not ask to leave and that I will play at PSG next season, continuing to work hard every day to defend the colors of Paris-Saint-Germain as best I can every time the coach gives me the opportunity!”

The Frenchman will return from holiday aiming to prove himself in preseason. With no plans to exit the club, the focus will shift to whether Enrique offers him more minutes in a crowded defensive setup.
