- ماركينيوس shares his thoughts on Donnarumma’s situation
- PSG captain admits he would be hurt by keeper’s exit
- Adds Donnarumma’s case not unusual at Parc des Princes
Marquinhos is not surprised by the developments at the club involving Donnarumma, who has been informed by head coach لويس Enrique that he won’t be the first-choice goalkeeper following the arrival of Lucas Chevalier from ليل. However, while Marquinhos mentioned that stars come and go at PSG, he also admitted that he would be “hurt” by the departure of the Italian custodian.
Donnarumma is edging closer to an exit from Parc des Princes, with reports claiming مانشستر سيتي have already reached an agreement to sign him this summer. The إيطاليا international, despite his heroics in goal last season, has been exiled by the club. Donnarumma has entered the final year of his contract, and with no progress related to a new deal, PSG decided to sign Chevalier. These events prompted the former ميلان keeper to post a fiery statement, holding the manager responsible for his situation. Donnarumma, in fact, has even been left out of the squad for this week’s كأس السوبر الأوروبي صدام ضد توتنهام, an attempt to push the goalkeeper out of the club.
The Brazilian centre-back reflected on Donnarumma’s situation at a press conference on Tuesday. He said: “It’s always difficult, I’ve been here for 12 or 13 years, I’ve seen players to whom it happened before, key players, important ones, who were told at the end of the transfer window that they had to leave. It’s our life, it’s football. All we can do is give the maximum while we’re at the club and ask the same of others. I too, one day, will leave and I hope to do it in the best possible conditions. The players come and go, but the club and the supporters remain.
“I’m very proud to have done what we did with Gigio, what he accomplished. We thank him from the bottom of our hearts. If he stays, we will open our arms to him because what he did last season was incredible. It’s thanks to him. If he has to leave, we thank him from the bottom of our hearts, he was a great leader throughout all his years. I can give you many names of players who have left and it hurt me. Seeing Donnarumma leave would hurt me. Other players have arrived now, that’s the life of a club, that’s how we live.”
After لويس إنريكي explained that he wanted a “different profile” in goal while justifying Donnarumma’s exclusion from the كأس السوبر squad, the keeper’s agent, Enzo Raiola, confirmed that they are considering taking legal action against PSG. It’s highly unlikely that Donnarumma stays put at Parc des Princes beyond this summer.
