- فنربخشة set to announce new manager
- السابق-بلجيكا coach Tedesco to take over
- الدوري السوبر side find Mourinho replacement
Fenerbahce’s efforts to sign a suitable managerial replacement following the sacking of Mourinho seemed to have paid off, as Turkish outlet Ensonhaber reports that the Super Lig heavyweights are closing in on an agreement to appoint Tedesco, who last managed the Belgium وطني فريق.
The Yellow Canaries have been desperate to finalise and hire a new manager after the dismissal of Mourinho. The Portuguese legend was relieved of his duties after he failed to guide Fenerbahce to the league phase of the دوري أبطال أوروبا, losing the qualifying play-offs against بنفيكا. Since then, names such as Ange Postecoglou and Stuttgart head coach Sebastian Hoeness have floated around. Former إيطاليا boss Luciano Spalletti and ex-ميلان head coach Sergio Conceicao were linked, too.
Ensonhaber further adds that Fenerbahce are expected to officially announce the appointment of Tedesco in the near future, with the 39-year-old having claimed that he will “make the team champions in the first year.” Gokhan Gonul is set to be Tedesco’s assistant in the coaching staff, according to journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.
It is likely that Tedesco will take over the reins before Fenerbahce’s next game, which is slated to be played on Sunday, September 14, against طرابزون سبور.
