Vancouver secured a late win against in MLS, with Muller scoring from the spot in the 14th minute of stoppage time to make it 3-2 with his maiden goal for the club. After the game, the German international took to Instagram to express his feelings about the match and outline why people love football so much.

The forward wrote: “What a crazy match. That’s why we love this game.”

Muller joined the Canadian club in a free transfer after his contract with ended in the summer. The 35-year-old came off the bench for the last 30 minutes of his first MLS game as they drew 1-1 with Houston Dynamo, but he was trusted with the captain’s armband as he lined up from the start against St Louis. Vancouver fell behind after 13 minutes but pulled level just before half-time. After the visitors struck again in the 73rd minute, Daniel Rios pulled the hosts level six minutes later, while Muller went on to wrap up the winner from the penalty spot.

Muller will hope to build on his bright start when Vancouver will take on the in their next MLS game.
